Holiday House Conwy - Top 5 restaurants in Conwy

There are a number of things that make Conwy a great place to come on holiday. The majestic castle, the cobbled streets and pretty quayside, quirky independent shops and stunning walks through the National Park. The cherry on the cake for me is all the fantastic places to eat. You could easily spend a week eating out somewhere different every night and still find some hidden gems waiting to be explored next time you visit. Whether you are after contemporary or traditional, fine dining or bustling cafes, Conwy has it all.

Here are my top five recommendations of places to eat in Conwy.

The Castle

The Castle serves traditional good quality locally sourced food. For a more casual experience eat in the bar in front of a roaring fire where you will enjoy ‘pub grub’ at its best. If you are after a more exclusive night out then head to their ‘Shakespeare’s Restaurant’. The bar is a perfect spot for a pre-dinner G and T.

The Midland

The Midland is a modern tapas restaurant and bar. The combination of the vibrant atmosphere, gourmet tapas and fine wines makes it a popular spot for an evening out.

Jonny Dough’s

Jonny Dough’s sells the best wood fired pizzas. As well as all the classics you’ll find quirky options such as Peking Duck and Mussels Mariniere on the menu. Great atmosphere, great value and you can wash it down with a selection of local ales, wine or gin. What’s not to love? Oh, and it’s literally across the road from Castle Reach.

Fisherman’s fish and chips

No visit to Conwy can be complete without eating fish and chips watching the sun set on Conwy quay. Fisherman’s is a family run fish and chip shop where you can enjoy good quality, locally sourced and sustainable fish and chips. For those days when the weather isn’t on your side you can sit inside the restaurant.

Watsons Bistro

Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Conwy this little gem is definitely worth a visit. The mouth watering menu at Watson’s is all locally sourced, homemade and truly delicious.
